I should've know better. I shouldn't have expected so much. I've been to the old location for Kiki Bakery and the bread and pastries were not good there. So why would I expected anything better at the grand opening of the new location in Monterey Park? I don't know. The new location is bigger, fancier, but all that jazz did not help to improve the quality of its baked goods. I made the mistake of buying a small parmesan cheese cake and a raisin buttermilk bread. I admit it was the adorable cute square shape and it's small clear packaging that attracted my attention to the parmesan cheese cake, but hello? Parmesan and Cheesecake? I should've known. The cheesecake was so dry and the parmesan just tasted weird. Much is the same with raisin buttermilk bread. Why isn't JJ Bakery closer to my house?
I think one of my New Year's resolution should be to not be so easily influence by appearances when it comes to food.
